Questions

Fracture care FAQs.

When does a fracture need surgery?
Many fractures heal in a cast or boot, but surgery is recommended when bones are displaced, unstable, involve a joint, or will not line up well on their own. Dr. Kelly uses your X-rays and the location of the break to recommend the safest path.
How soon should a broken bone be seen?
Sooner is better. Prompt evaluation lets the bone be set in the best position and lowers the risk of it healing crooked. If you have an open wound, numbness, severe deformity, or cannot bear weight, seek care right away.
Do you treat ankle sprains and Achilles injuries?
Yes. Dr. Kelly treats ankle fractures and ligament injuries, high-ankle sprains, and Achilles ruptures — both surgically and non-surgically — with a plan to restore strength and push-off power.
Do you treat fractures in children and teens?
Yes. Dr. Kelly cares for fractures in athletes and active patients of all ages, including pediatric and adolescent injuries, with attention to growth plates and a safe return to sport.
