What is Mako robotic joint replacement?
Mako is a robotic-arm assisted system that builds a 3D plan of your knee or hip from a CT scan, then helps Dr. Kelly position and place the implant precisely to that plan. The surgeon stays in control the entire time — the robotic arm adds accuracy.
Is robotic joint replacement better than traditional surgery?
Robotic assistance improves the accuracy of implant alignment and helps protect healthy bone and soft tissue. Many patients have a smooth recovery, though results depend on your anatomy, overall health, and rehab. Dr. Kelly will discuss whether it is the right fit for you.
